It’s a little cliche at the beginning of a new year, but I was inspired by a few different places around the web, and I decided to define some goals for 2013. Most of these goals aren’t directly related to money matters, but they are all somehow related to improving myself, my quality of life, and my skills (they are all pretty selfish, really) – I hope each of these goals will serve me well in my quest towards an unconventional and financially independent life.
While I am not attempting to be a self help or how-to blogger, I think defining positive goals and sharing them in a public forum is motivational, and will help me stay accountable.
In addition to documenting these goals for the new year in a new section called Accountability, I’ve also created a few experimental pages to track specific feats: a Bicycle Miles Log, &
Net Worth Tracking page (no longer sharing this info). I am not sure how comfortable I am sharing my intimate finances with the Internet, but it’s worth a shot. I think sometimes as a society we have an unjustified and silly fear of discussing money, salaries, and savings – so I’ll try breaking the taboo and see how it works, even if I am mostly anonymous.
SO, what are your goals for 2013?
